HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT AND ENGINEERING CHARACTERISTICS OF WATER-IMPOUNDING HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES IN CENTRAL ASIA

Аннотация

This article provides information on hydraulic structures constructed during antiquity and the Middle Ages. The history and construction techniques of hydraulic structures are comparatively analyzed. Particular attention is paid to water-management structures built in the Ancient East, as well as to the achievements of agriculture during that period. In addition, the article explains that the construction techniques of medieval water-management structures in the territory of present-day Uzbekistan were based on a high level of knowledge and practical experience. The information presented in the article contributes to illuminating the history of agricultural development in the region.
