Abstract: Writing proficiency remains one of the most formidable challenges for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, particularly in standardized assessments such as the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Traditional teacher-led feedback, while pedagogically effective, often suffers from high teacher-student ratios and delayed turnaround times. Recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) offer promising alternatives through real-time, automated writing evaluation (AWE). This study investigates the impact of AI-assisted feedback on the IELTS Academic Writing performance of intermediate EFL learners over an 8-week intervention period.
