Abstract

Abstract: The development of English communicative competence is an important component of modern vocational education. For technical college students, English is not only an academic subject but also an essential tool for accessing professional information, communicating in international environments, using modern technologies, and developing future career opportunities. This article examines effective strategies for developing English communicative competence among technical college students. Particular attention is given to communicative language teaching, task-based learning, collaborative activities, role-playing, project-based learning, digital technologies, and the integration of artificial intelligence tools into the English language classroom. The article also considers the importance of professionally oriented English, which enables students to develop language skills related to their future occupations. The analysis demonstrates that a combination of interactive teaching methods, authentic professional materials, digital resources, and learner-centered activities can create more opportunities for meaningful communication and improve students’ confidence in using English. The article concludes that communicative competence can be developed more effectively when language education is closely connected with students’ professional needs and practical communication situations.
