THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING ENGLISH IN THE MODERN WORLD

Annotation. In the modern world, English has become one of the most important languages for international communication, education, science, technology, business, tourism, and cultural exchange. Globalization and the rapid development of digital technologies have significantly increased the need for effective English language skills. Knowledge of English provides learners with access to a wide range of educational resources, scientific publications, international communication platforms, and professional opportunities. This article examines the importance of learning English in contemporary society and analyzes its role in education, scientific research, information technology, international business, employment, tourism, and intercultural communication. Particular attention is paid to the importance of English for young people and students in developing professional competencies and improving their competitiveness in the modern labor market. The article also discusses contemporary approaches to English language teaching, including communicative methods, digital learning resources, online education, multimedia technologies, and independent learning. The study concludes that English language proficiency is an important component of modern education and human capital development. Improving the quality of English language education can contribute to students’ academic, professional, and personal development and strengthen their participation in international cooperation.
